Truth Corroded/Worship The Bleed/Ultimhate Records/2011 CD Review

Truth  Corroded  are  a  band  from  Australia  that  plays  a  mixture  of  thrash,  hardcore  and  death  metal  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2011  album  "Worship  The  Bleed"  which  was  released  by  Ultimhate Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats  being  thrown  in,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  siund  with  riffs  that  dominate  throughout  the  recording.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combine  influences  from  hardcore,  thrash  and  death  metal,  while  the  lead  guitars  have  a  very  meldoic  sound  to  the  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  are  mostly  death/thrash  style  growls  and  screams  mixed  in  with  some  hardcore  influenced  growls,  while  the  lyrics  cover  politics  and  misanthropy,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful  and  heavy  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Truth  Corroded  are  a  decent  thrash  band  that  mixes  hardcore  and  death  metal  in  their  sound  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  9out  this  band.  RECEMMONDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Knives  Of  The  Betrayed"  "Leave  Nothing  Alive"  "Remants'  and  "Tear  Out  the  Eyes  of  Your  God".  RECEMMONDED  BUY.

Enfuneration Interview

Dave Thompson / ENFUNERATION

1. Can you tell us a little bit about the band for those that have never heard of you before?

We are a 4 piece death metal band from Oklahoma City, Ok. , U.S.A.. We are all old school guys with traditional roots in death metal, heavy metal, thrash metal, and some black metal. We have been around since late 2006, and released a 7 song e.p. entitled "Souls To Burn" in 2007. After a few drummer changes, we now have a very solid line-up with Bryan Nikkel on guitar / vocals, Rodney Cochran on drums, Bryan Carman on bass guitar, and myself on guitar / vocals. We just released our split cd with Sacrificial Slaughter (ca.), entitled "American Death Thrash". Combing forces with them has worked out killer and the cd is strong, with both bands delivering some true metal.

2. How would you describe your musical sound?

We try not to sound like anyone else, as do most bands, and hopefully we have achieved that. I believe we have a raw gritty sound that a lot of death metal fans will dig. We have many musical influences among the band, and we all have a variety of stuff we grew up on and that combination has warranted some cool songs that have different styles even within the same song.

3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjecs the band explores with the music?

We sing about serious matters, real life, real death. We are not a gore band, or a porn band, that's just not for us. As an example, the song Bearing Their Scars is based on the perils of the U.S.S. Indianapolis and the story of the men that lived through it. But brutal reality is the main content throughout our songs.

4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?

Its so hard to find a name that is cool and that nobody has in this day and age, so I made up a word by just adding some letters on the front of an existing word. EN-FUNERATION..The word funeration means to be buried with last rites, so adding the en on the front to me would turn it into the opposite, which would mean to me, mass graves, not being buried, and no religious figures to say your final rites, or to pray for your soul.

5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?

I would say for this band, the best show has been the ILDM Spring Bash 2, in Milwaukee Wi. earlier this year. As far as local shows, they are all killer, especially opening for killer national, or international bands. we have opened for quite a few nationals, but Vital Remains was probably the sickest of the national shows that we have opened.

6. Do you have any touring plans for the future?

We will see what comes up, but in this day and age, everything has to be right to be able to afford the trips, and making sure the venues are all set up and stuff. It's a lot tougher nowadays but we still plan on doing some fests, and as many out of state shows as we can pull off.

7. On a worldwide level how has your music been recieved by death metal fans?

So far I have heard nothing but good things. Of course we aren't trying to take over the world, just get our music out to the real metalheads that will enjoy it...!!

8. Are there any other projects besides this band or is this a full time line-up?

Nobody else has any side stuff, but I do studio vocals for a power metal band from here called Forte'. I have been in that band since 96', and have sang on the last 3 studio albums. The new one comes out inJanuary 2012, on tribunal records, and is entitled "Unholy War". Pure power thrash..!!

9. What direction do you see the music heading into on future releases?

Just trying to maintain our style without becoming too repetitious, and of course stepping up the writing the best we can...

10.What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Like I said this bands members have been around for a while, so we have a wide interest in music, from Iron Maiden to Judas Priest, Suffocation to Nile, etc etc. Recently I purchased the new Arch/Matheos, "Sympathetic Resonance", and it is one of the best cds I have bought in a long time. Of course we listen to a lot of stuff.

11.Outside of music what are some of your interests

Bryan Nikkel is a bike builder, Bryan Carman is a mechanic, Rodney Cochran is a tattoo artist, and I refinish cars and bikes, and also do wood-burning. Also hockey is a big part of my existence as well. Horror movies and good metal all around.!!!

12. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?

Support the music you love, stay true to your heart, and keep it fucking METAL...\,,/

Sacrificial Slaughter Interview

1. Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?
Right now we are touring in support of a split release we just put out on Horror Pain Gore Death Productions.

2. How would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the split album and how does it differ from the previous recordings.
The tracks we did for the split are relentless.  Aggressive, pissed off and in your face from start to finish.  Definitely our best work to date. Previous recordings document a lot of different stages in the band and a lot of trying to find our sound.  From Death Metal to Grindcore. gorey, guttural, drum machines, we've done it all.  But I think we have finally found ourselves in the music and really enjoy playing the new tunes we have out today.  Everything we write gets better and better and more fun to play.  Thats what its all about.

3. What is your opinion of the other band on the split?
Enfuneration is great. We met them on the road in 2010.  We played in their hometown Oklahoma City and they impressed the fuck out of us to say the least.  More like gave us a run for our money.  Also their hospitality during our stay in their town was unmatched.  So we got to know them real well and when the idea came about of doing a split release I knew exactly who I wanted to work with.

4. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the new recording?
I would like to think we have progressed in this category.  Breaking away from the cliche, generic, blood guts and gore Death Metal lyrics and referring to more everyday life situations that people can relate to.  Often in our case that consists of Whiskey, Weed and pussy.  But those are topics that we deal with in many ways on an everyday basis.  Even topics from problems with the law to drinkin a bottle so you dont get the shakes, or just straight up whoopin someones ass.  These things happen in our lives.  Some people think thats cheesy.  But we dont just play this music.  It is a lifestyle and we live it every single day.

5. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?
I started the band 10 years ago with the current Gravehill/Exhumed axe player BodyBag Bob.  I remember jamming in my parents garage throwing around different ideas for band names and he actually said "Sacrificial Slaughter" as a joke.  I thought it was bad ass, so after extensive research online I was able to confirm that the name was available and it stuck.

6. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?
Someone actually asked me this question the other day and I rattled off my top five.  I think i'll stick with those and say Switzerland,GermanyMexicoChicago and New York City.  These are places we have had extremely successful and fun shows.  They are all memorable for different reasons but alike in the ways of big, energetic crowds hanging by our every note. There is no better feeling then sending a sea of people into an all out frenzy with the power of music.  Our stage presence is intense.  Whether there is 5 people or 500, we pride ourselves in giving 100% in our performance and playing our hardest each and every night.

7. Do you have any touring plans for the future?
Nov.17th - El Paso, TX @ Badlands Billiards
 Nov.19th - San Antonio, TX @ The Korova (The Goregrowler's Ball 5)
Nov.20th - Oklahoma City, OK @ The Conservatory
Nov.22nd - Albuquerque, NM @ The Lions Den
 Nov.25th - Denver, CO @ 3 Kings Tavern
Nov.26th - Salt Lake City, UT @ Club Expose
 Nov.27th - Las Vegas, NV @ Boomers

8. When can we expect a full length recording.
After this tour the writing process will commence once again.  Ideally we would like to have a full length out in the Spring of 2012.  Hopefully our new split release will have success and generate enough positive feedback and label interest to propel us back into the studio early next year.

 9. On a worldwide level how has your music been recieved by death/thrash fans?

We have connected with thousands of fans all around the world and the reception has been extremely positive.  Like I said before, we reach out to our fellow metal brothers and sisters and relate to them on many levels through our lyrical themes.  Combine that with the unprecedented aural assault of our music that we like to call "Extreme Fucking Death Thrash" and it has been a winning concoction for us so far.
 10. What direction do you see the music heading into on future releases?
Right now I am happy with the direction of the material we are creating.  Sky is the limit and the songs get better and better with each one we write.  In the future I hope to get us in a real studio with a real producer that can hopefully help us really capture our true sound and full potential.  Everything we've done to date has been self funded, self produced and in some cases self recorded.  Our next release we hope to have more label support and work with new people that have these skills and capabilities
 11. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
We have been fortunate enough to tour with some of our favorite bands like Pestilence, Master, Vital Remains, Goatwhore, Anal Blast and others.  These are all bands we were fans of from the beginning and having the opportunity to work along side them has been very influential.  A short list of other bands that have influenced our style might look something like Monstrosity, Misery Index, Obituary, At the Gates, Massacre, Autopsy, Aborted, etc.
12.Outside of music what are some of your interests?
These days the music consumes a large portion of our lives.  It's a cutthroat business in this underground scene and there are thousands of bands out there trying to make it just like us.  In a genre where just about everything has been done a million times and in some cases beaten to death, it can sometimes be hard to keep your head above water.  The strong will survive and the weak will be cast aside.  So we work hard and dedicate the majority of our time to making sure we continue to thrive and stand out amongst this blood red sea of bands.
 13. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?
Be sure to pick up our new Cd "American Death Thrash" on Horror Pain Gore Death productions and SUPPORT THE UNDERGROUND!!

Morta Skuld Interview

1. Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band members these days?

Some of us are married and some divorced. Myself I have a 19 yr old daughter and a 9 yr old son. Kent has 3 kids and Jason (o'connell) has 2 and Kevin has two as well. Myself and Jason Hellman went on to do a band called 9mm solution, which did two albums and also toured. Jef went on to several projects as well. Kent, Jason O'Connell don't play at all.

2. I have read that over the years the band changed it names, what was the decision behind that?

what happened is Morta Skuld broke up and after a year or so I couldn't seem to find a band or anyone I really wanted to jam with. No one around me would give up the Morta history and wanted to have a good name for the new project. So when I wanted to rename the project some fans got upset, we played under the Morta moniker for a while and then the same fans felt it wasn't cool, So then changed the name to MS2. Which eventually turned into 9mm solution.

3. How would you describe the lyrical content of the lder music?

It is tought for me to say, I'm so close to it. I had alot of help on Prolong from Jef. Him and I had a different view of what the lyrics should be, I wanted to be all dark and Satan stuff, And he wanted them to have more thought behind them. We then came togther and said let's be dark but talk and write about the act of certian things that may have happned back in the dark ages.

4. What was the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?

Brian from viogression actually helped me with that, we were sitting around the table and he just had a few names written down, one was Puss and other weird things, and then he said the name and I was like that's it!

5. What where some of the best shows that the band played live and how would you describe your stage performance?

Do date our Metal fest shows always went very well, But the show we opened for Slayer was by far the best, we were in are home town on our home turf and just brought it.

6. Recently Relpase Records re-issued your older demos, what are your feeling about the re-issue?

It's a good story, Eric Grief and I were hanging out at my house and he asked if I had the old demo's we did on CD. I said yeah but they don't sound very good, I then went into the studio to clean the tracks up. Couple months went by and Jef and i crossed paths again and I mentioned to him I cleaned up the demo's. He then took a listen and was like I can clean this up even more and fix some stuff, then we went back in the studio 2 more times and mastered the final CD. I'm very proud of this work and happy Relpase Decided to release this, it sounds great and feel it still stands the test of time.

7. I know that over the years the band was on a few record labels, out off all the ones that you worked with, which one do you feel that did the most to support your music?

Hands down Peaceville was awesome for us and really helped us along with are career.

8. On a worldwide level how was your music recieved by death metal fans?

We had a lot of great response from fans, the bigger fan base was in the UK and oversea more so then the US. We were selling records and playing out with are favorite bands.

9. What where some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Back in the day we were all heavy into Metallica and Testament, and thrash in general. But before I started playing Death metal i was really into Sabbath and Ozzy and Alice cooper. With music being so different these days i'm very picky as too what I listen to and just feel there are so many bands and just too much to choose from. I listen to Morbid angel still and the new Forbidden is awesome, Mnemic and Threat signal are two of my favorite bands these days, and the new Fear Factory is awesome too.

10. What role did Satanism and Occultism play in the music?

At first alot, and then Jef joined and wasn't confortable with the content, so we agreed to write about the act of or feeling one would feel if they were nailed to a cross or have a parasite inisde of them. Eric and I would read through different books of religion and and the occult and that's kinda where it started.

11. Outside of music what are some of your interests?

To be honest not alot, the other guys have there wives and stuff, if I'm not with my kids I'm having a cold one and or hangin at the music store checking out the guitars, I do like going to see movies quite a bit. Other then that i"m pretty broing, I love to play.

12. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?

Yes please people go buy a copy of are CD and show these new age kids that old school still support there bands by buying a copy not stealing it, and thank you to all the fans that have and do support us, Big thank you to Eric and Relapse for there support as well.

Morta Skuld/Through The Eyes Of Death-The Early Demos/Relapse Records/2011 CD_Reissue Review

Morta  Skuld  are  a  band  from  Wisconsin  that  where  around  in  the  90-'s  and  played  a  very  heavy,  dark  and  occult  form  of  death  metal;  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  early  90's  demos  which  where  re-issued  by  Relapse  Records  as  "Through  The  Eyes  of  Death".

Drums  range  from  slwo,  midpaced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats  being  thrown  in  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  tone  with  some  dark  sounding  death  metal  riffi9ng.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  midpaced  to  fast  death  metal  riffs  that  also  have  a  thrash  edge  and dark  sounding  melodies  being  thrown  in  on  ocassion,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  dark,  melodic,  primitive  and  chaotic  sounding  death  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals  are  mostly  deep  sounding  death  metal  growls  with  some  horror  film  samples  being  used  on  one  song,  while  the  lyrics  touch  on  dark,  occultic,  satanic  anti  christian  and  gory  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  heavy  and  dark  sound  to  it  while  still  having  that  raw  demo  feeling  to  them.

In  my  op0inion  Morta  Skuld  where  a  very  good  early  90's  death  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECEMMONDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Sacrificial  Rite"  "Preacher  Of  Lies'  "Of  Evil"  and  "Eternal  Suffering'.  RECEMMONDED  BUY.

Perversity Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?

Kazatel: Well, we have released our fourth album "Ablaze" via Lavadome Productions on August 31st. Besides that, we are planning to play some gigs in Slovakia to promote it. And also we are making some interviews for zines, radios and other promotional stuff.

2. How would you describe the musical sound of the new album and how it differs from previous releases?

Kazatel: Our new album was recorded in the professional studio Klakson, so the sound is very unique and of course more obscure and we are really satisfied with it.

3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the new release?

Kazatel: On our demos and the first two albums the lyrics were mainly written by Jozef (guitars), they were about hatred, wars and other social issues. On our third album the lyrics were written by myself, except two of them were done by Jozef. They were about the dark corners of human mind, apocalypse and heresy. On our new album the lyrics were written by myself and they are about blasphemy, occultism and devil worship. But we dont wanna be seen as a satanic death metal band.

4. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?

Kazatel: As far as I can remember...the best shows that we played, were supports for Suffocation and Vital Remains. But every show is a good show for us. And how can I describe our stage performance? It´s very simple, come to visit a gig and you will see:)

5. Do you have an ytouring plans fo rthe new release?

Kazatel: Like I said...we are planning to play some gigs here in Slovakia. Maybe we will do some shows in the Czech Republic or Poland. Time will tell.

6. On a worldwide level how have death metal fans worldwide react to the new album?

Kazatel: Until these days we have received many e-mails and reactions of fans are very good. Also some reviews have been made, so the worldwide response is really good.

7. What direction do you see your music heading into on future releases?

Kazatel: We will do what we like...pure blasphemous death metal at its best.

8. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced the sound of the new album and also what are you listening to nowadays?

Kazatel: Like a death metal band we were and are influenced or inspired by many bands. Some of them are Incantation, Suffocation, Immolation or Deicide, but we dont wanna be described as a copy of them. And what about me? Well, I don´t like gospel music and technoshit...but I can listen to everything from prog-rock till goregrind. I have many favourite styles and bands.

9. What role does Occultsim play in you rmusic and how would you describe your views on this topic?

Kazatel:Occultism is a very good theme to discuss, but we have no time to do that. But I have always been inspired by it from the very childhood.I have really been enchanted by everything that has dealt with it.I own some grimoires, books and poems in my collection. So,You can see me as a laic student and fan of it, that likes to read about it and writes lyrics for his band.

10. Outside of music what are som eof you rinterests?

Kazatel: Well,my band and whole musicianship is not my main income, it´s my hobby.I am employed as a security officer, so sometimes I have no time to rehearse.

11. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?

Kazatel: Thanks a lot for showing interest on our band and don´t forget that DEATH METAL IS ETERNAL!

Perversity/Lavadome Productions/2011 CD Review

Perversity  are  a  band  from  Slovakia  that  plays  a  very  dark  occultic  form  of  brutal  death  metal  in  the  old  school  vein  and  this is  a  review  of  their  2011  album  "Ablaze"  which  was  released  by  Lavadome  Productions.

Drums  range  from  midpaced  to  fast  drumming  with  alot  of  brutal  blast  beats  being  thrown  in,  while  the  piano  which  is  only  used  on  the  intro's  brings  a  very  tragic,  dark  and  evil  sound  to  the  music,  as  for  the  bass  playing  it  sounds  very  strong  and  powerful  with  riffs  that  dominate  throughout  the  album.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  midpaced  to  fast  death  metal  riffs  in  the  old  school  vein  that  are  very  brutal  and  heavy  sounding  with  alot  of  skill  being  utilized  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  distorted  and  technical  sounding  death  metal  leads.

Vocals  are  mostly  deep  death  metal  growls  with  a  good  amount  of  high  pitched  screams  being  thown  in  at  times,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Occultism,  Necrophillia  and  other  dark  themes,  as  for the  production  it  has  a  very  heavy,  poweful  and professional  sound  to  it  with  all  of  the  musical  instruments  coming  out  with  a  very  brutal  sound.

In  my  opinion  Perversity  are  a  very  good  brutal  occultic  death  metal band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  out  this  band.  RECEMMONDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Behind  The  Diabolical"  "Merciless Messiah"  "Necrophilliac  Beast"  and  "Blood  Of  Hastur".  RECEMMONDED  BUY.

Supreme Pain Interview

>
> 1. Can you update us on what is going on with the band these days?
As you maybe know our new record came just out, so now we are preparing for the live shows. We have also practise with a session Bass player  at the moment because Alesa is pregnant but after this she will come back in the band. Also i like to say that the reactions on this new records are absolute amazing.

> 2. How would you describe the musical sound of the new album and how it
> differs from previous releases?
I think this record is much more dark evil death metal .. the other ones are where more normal brutal death.
We also had this already in mind before we started creating new tracks .. that it still sounds like Supreme pain but more dark .. and it turnt out killer.

> 3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the new release
> explores?
When the record is more dark and evil than you can image that the lyrics on this record are also like this.We try to make by every track a cool story.

> 4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?
By a brutal band like us you need also a cool name that fits by your sound .. and a name that stays easy in your head .. so Erwin the guitar player came with this name and we all liked it. But there is no deeper meaning behind the band name.

> 5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and
> how would you describe you stage performance?
We didn,t play that much live show .. but the ones we did where really good. Our music stands for Brutality and Aggression and that is what you get when you come to see us. We give our selfs for 100% and not less.

> 6. What are the touring plans for the new album, any plans to hit North
> or South America?
Man .. that will be so amazing when this can happen with Supreme pain. We are prepard to work really hard but than also people have to ask for us. We really hope that with the new record the band will be bigger and that we can start doing cool live shows.

> 7. What is going on with the other projects these days?
Now first i like to say that Bastiaan from Supreme pain joint Sinister and i am really happy about this because he is great guitar player. For my self i still do Absurd Universe (Sinister project but fucking cool old school death/thrash) the record will come out late October on Punishment 18 records. I have also Weapons to hunt .. we recorded already our c.d but now we have to wait how like to bring this out for us.

Omission Interview

1. Can you update us with what is going on with the band these days?

Greetings… right now we are rehearsing with our new bassist Jose Luis Gonzalez, working on a new song and waiting for our debut album “In the Shadow of the Cross” to come out.

2. How would you describe the musical sound of the new album and how does it differ from the demos that you have put out?

The sound of Omision in general is a straight forward, in your face Death Metal, just like in the old days (1990’s).

The first demo (Pile Up in the Morgue) was recorded at Volta Bend studios with Adrian, Emmanuel, Hazael, Ixca and Me on the line up. After the departure of Hazael and then Emmanuel, I took over on rhythm guitars/vocals and redefined the guitar sound and later on Roberto joined the band helping to reinforce the sound that we already had with his lead guitar skills. As a four piece we recorded the second demo (Utopia of Chaos) in Volta Bend studios once again but this time we had a much clearer idea about how we wanted the demo to sound.

For the third demo (Pray) Adrian had left the band and we recruited Joel and after a few months of rehearsing the old songs and writing two new ones Roberto suggested that we try M&L Studios to record the next demo, so we did and we were really happy with the results that when we got the record deal we choose once again to work with M&L Studios to record the album.

To sum it up, the difference of Omision’s sound throughout the years has been the line up changes the band has had.

3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the new release explores?

Some songs express my personal experience I have had with some religions and the way they try to force you to believe in a god (Your God). And how they make you believe that if you pray really hard you will win a place in heaven or help to resolve your problems and stuff like that (Pray), another one is that they pray for your soul but you don’t want/need salvation from anyone or any thing (Won’t Be Saved). Other songs talk about the war between good and evil and how evil will always prevails.

4. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name?

It has no special meaning, Omision is Spanish for Omission. Back in ‘93 we named the band after a Testament song “Sins of Omission”, since we all liked their music (don’t know about the other guys nowadays but I still like it) we agreed to name the band Omision, we even tried to cover that song but never finished it.

5. You guys have been around since the early 90's what was the decision behind the break up, and what made you decide to reform the band?

The beginning of the end was the musical differences we all had, I left the band a few moths after the original lead guitarist quit and since he was the one who wrote the best riffs I decided to quit the band, and the rest of the guys started a cover band and playing other types of music.

After that I started a couple of projects with no results until I met up with my friend and neighbor at the time Adrian and started working on new songs and since then Omision was reborn.

6. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?

The best shows we ever had definitely have to be when we played with Incantation, Demilich and thrash metal legends Rigor Mortis.

When we get on stage we go straight for the kill!!! We play almost nonstop so the audience will never know what hit them, you know?

We always work on different set lists for each show we play

7. Do you have any touring plans for the new album?

Not really, but if something interesting comes up and we all are up for it we’ll do it

8. On a worldwide level how has your music has been received by death metal fans worldwide?

I think it has had a good response… a slow but good response I must say, and hope that we can make more fans once the album comes out.

9. What is going on with the other bands these days?

Well, if you’re referring to Infinitum Obscure and Sadistic Intent well…

Roberto and Infinitum Obscure are working on their 3rd album and Sadistic Intent just hired Nick Barker as their new drummer.

10. What direction do you see the music heading into on future releases?

The music will still be on the same page as all the previous songs I have written, but the topics will be different this time around, I got some new topics on my mind that I need to put in writing.

11. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

My main influence is 90’s death metal, but I like thrash metal as well. As for bands well…. I like a lot of bands. I consider myself a big fan of Testament, I also love Bolt Thrower, Massacre, Napalm Death, Terrorirzer, Death, Asphyx, Carcass, Malevolent Creation, old Hypocrisy, I can continue naming bands but the list will be to damn long, hehehe…

Lately I have been listening to Solitude Aeturnus, Candlemass, Extreme Noise Terror, Insect Warfare, Necros Christos, Winter, Autopsy, Iron Maiden, Napalm Death and some 1950’s rock ‘n roll. Right now I’m listening to “Dream of Immortality” by Solitude Aeturnus

12. What role does Anti Christianity/Catholicism and Satanism play in your music and how would you describe your views on these topics?

The music till this day it has been anti religious in general. Most of the lyrics I have written are more of my personal experience with Catholicism and Christianity, and if I refer to Satan in some songs, I do it in a metaphorical way, just to represent evil. You know? And In no way Omision is a satanic band.

As I mentioned it before, the lyrical topics will change and maybe every now and then I’ll write more anti religious lyrics.

I personally don’t believe in any kind of religion, call it Christianity, Buddhist, Satanism, etc… for me there’s only good and evil and that’s it!

Every one is entitled to believe in what they want to, just don’t try to convince me to join a religion or a cult because that is not going to happen.

13. Outside of music, what are some of your interests?

I like sports, every now and then I go and play some paintball, I like war movies and documentaries, video games, reading books (thing I have not done in a wile), increasing my cassette tapes, LPs and CDs collection, going to metal shows, like every metal fan.

14. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?

Thank you so much for this interview and remember… no one will answer your prayers!

Sinister/Legacy Of Ashes/Massacre Records/2010 CD Review

Sinister are a band from The Netherlands that has a long history which goes back 20 years, with a style that I would describe as being brutal death metal and this is a review of their 2010 album "Legacy Of Ashes" which was released by Massacre Records.

Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast with alot of brutal blast beats that sound very powerful, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they sound very powerfukl.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast death metal riffs that are very heavy and brutal, while the lead guitars are a mixture between chaotic and melodic death metal guitar solos.

Vocals are all deep death metal growls with a smalll amount of spoken word passages being used on a couple of songs, while the lyrics cover hateful themes with a touch of occultism, as for the production it has a very powerful and heavy sound to it.

In my opinion this is another great album from Sinister and if you where a fan od their past recordings, you should enjoy this release. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Into The Blind World" "The Sin Of Sodomy" and "The Living Sacrifice".. RECEMMONDED BUY.

Omission/In The Shadow Of The Cross/Chaos Records/2011 CD Review

Omission are a band from Mexico that consists of may veterans from the Mexico/California underground and play raw and evil sounding in the old school vien and this is a review of their 2011 album "In The Shadow Of The Cross" which will be released by Chaos Records.

Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast playing with alot of brutal blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone which is mixed down low in the mix and seems to follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars, as for the keyboards when they are utilized briefly they have a dark ritualistic feel to them.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast raw and brutal death metal riffs in the classic vien, while the lead guitars are very dark and evil sounding death metal classic solos in the early 90's vien.

Vocals are all deep death metal growls which are very easy to understand and on one song there are some ritualistic chants being utilized, while the lyics are anti christian/catholic with a satanic edge, as for the production it has a very and raw sound to it.

In my opinion Omission are a very good raw, evil, and anti christian death metal in the early 90's vien, and if you are a fan of this style, you hould check out this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In The Shadow Of The Cross" "Assault In The Vatican" "wont Be Saved" and "Fallen Angels". RECEMMONDED BUY.

Undead Creep Interview

1. Can you give us an update on what is going on with the band these days?

David: Hi there! Ok, after the release of the album in June we haven’t had any important activity, but we’re getting a very good feedback from both people and ‘zines.

2. How would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the album and how it differs from the demo?

David: We’re pretty satisfied for the sound on the album, it’s heavy and boor! It’s also very natural, I mean we didn’t use effects or triggers on the drums, so maybe you can also hear some mistakes in the playing, but our goal was to get exactly this. I think the album differs from the demo ‘cause of the great mastering by Damian Herring from HORRENDOUS with which the sound became really tight and blown.

3. What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the music explores on the new release?

Giorgio: We've been dealing with some of the classic death metal topics of course, but in some of the songs we felt like we could push ourselves a little bit further. Of course there is a zombie-inspired tune, which is "Surrounded by Tombs"; another one's about drowning and meeting an excruciating end, and it's called "Frozen Asphyxhiation"; while the closing number is a weird tale about Lovecraftian rites of darkness and blasphemy ("Forbidden Cult"). In spite of that, we also wanted to try and come up with something more personal or even"earthly": I'm talking about "Eradicated Memories", my personal favorite lyrics-wise, which is about the feeling of deprivation and anguish caused by the loss of memory, and the bleakness of a world without shape. Funny stuff indeed, ahaha! Moreover, "Survive the Aftermath" features some rude anti-war lyrics. It's the closest we've ever got to a real declaration of intents. We wanted to summon the image of a world eventually turned into a charcoaled battlefied to make everyone realize what we believe is total "hate's tremendous price". The "warlike propagandas" you can read about are being shoved down people's throats even as we talk, so this is tremendously serious. But I'd like to mention "Swallowed by the Chasm" as well: Sandro wrote some quite obscure stuff for that one!

 4. Your sound has a Swedish feel for it, what made you decide to go for this sound?

David: Since I started to listen death metal I always loved the most famous Swedish bands like Entombed, Dismember or Hypocrisy, but after I read the Daniel Ekeroth’s book “Swedish Death Metal” and I started to discover all those underground bands, I wanted to have a band with that sound, just for fun, and with the plan to do only one demo…

5. What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance?

David: So far we have been playing just three times in Sicily and they have been not that bad. While we play we don’t look for any particular visual effect since we rather like to impress the audience with the gloomy atmosphere that the music inspires.

6. Do you have any touring plans for the new release?

David: Not at the moment, but we hope to organize something soon.

7. On a worldwide level how has your new album been received by death metal fans?

David: The feedback is going really beyond our expectations, lots of people are writing to give us enthusiastic review and opinions, so we are of course very pleased and surprised about that.

8. What is going on with the other projects these days?

David: We have just finished our first HAEMOPHAGUS european tour together with canadian grinders MESRINE , which began at Obscene Extreme Festival. It was awesome, really a blast even if we ran into the usual troubles you can experience during a d.i.y. tour. For what the new releases are concerned, the LP version of our first album “Slaves To The Necromancer” and the split CD with the scottish death metal act BONESAW are out now. A split 7” with swedish REPUKED and the LP version of the BONESAW split will be available at Bloodshed Festival in Eindhoven on 14th and 15th October. Speaking about MORBO, we’re still working on the songwriting for the first album.

9. What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

David: It’s evident that the music of Undead Creep is strongly influenced by old school swedish death metal like old ENTOMBED/NIHILIST, DISMEMBER, CARNAGE, GRAVE, UNLEASHED, GOD MACABRE, NIRVANA 2002,AUTHORIZE, MEGA SLAUGHTER, SORCERY, MERCILESS, old EDGE OF SANITY and so on… even if it’s pretty clear that Autopsy, best death metal band ever, are the main influence. Personally I’m listening very much the new AUTOPSY album, BURIAL INVOCATION from Turkey,

10. What role does Occultism play in your music and how would you describe your vies on this subject?

Giorgio: We kinda know that it's no new topic at all, not for metal at least, but we wanted to embrace it nonetheless. Needless to say, we kept it real primitive and the references we included in some of the lyrics sound hazy to say the least (just read the lyrics to the aforementioned "Forbidden Cult" or the ones to "Summoning the Abyss Lord", a demo track included in the cd version of the album). We only needed that atmosphere and we tried to create it much like in the vein of an E.A. Poe tale. Personally, I'm a "long-time beginner" in occultism: I've tried to read Cavendish's "The Black Arts" four or five times but always got stuck in the numerology-related chapters, which to me are way too boring and complicated, ahaha! Anyway, Undead Creep are much more EXoteric than ESoteric: our sonic rite is public and every good motherfucker can get as close to it as we can...

11. Outside of music what are some of your interests?

David: Watching old movies, reading books and playing games, and managing d.i.y. activities but when I’m so bored I like to spit outside the windows on the walking people hahahaha.

12. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview?

David: Thanks for your time, we really appreciate your support. And thanks very much to all the people who struggle to keep the real death metal alive and to legalize marijuana.
