Drowned/Butchery Age Live/Congumelo Records/2008 LiveCD Review

Drowned  are  a  band  from  Brazil  that  has  had  one  of  their  previous  releases  reviewed  in  this  zine  with  a  musical  style  that  mixes  thrash  and  death  metal  together  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  live  2008 album  "Butchery  Age  Live"  which  was  released  by  Congumelo  Records.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music  at  times,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  tone  with  riffs  that  dominate  throughout  the  recording.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  riffs  that  combine  thrash  and  death  metal  together  with  a  great  amount  of  melody  being  thrown  into  the  riffing,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  melodic  sounding  guitar  solos and  leads  that  combine  traditional,  thrash  and  death  metal  together.

Vocals  range  from  death/thrash  style  grunting  and  deep  death  metal  growls,  while  the  lyrics  cover  darkness,  anti  religion,  violence  and  everyday  themes,  as  for  the  production  on  this  recording  it  was recorded  live  and  it  has  a  very  strong,  powerful,  heavy  and  professional  sound  where  you  can  hear all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  recording  from  Drowned  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  death/thrash  metal,  you  should  check  this  band  out.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "When  To  Kill  Is A  Worthy  Job"  "Natural  Born  Killers"  "Spiritual  Force  To  Kill"  and  "Evil  Darkness  Inside".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
