Vermin are a band from Germany that plays death metal with elements of groove and this is a review of their 2013 album "Mind Control" which was released by Blacksmith Records.
"Misery" begins with some amp distortion and bass guitars before the drums and old school melodic guitar riffs kick in which leads to some screams and growls and after a couple of minutes there is a brief use of guitar solos and leads being utilized.
"Mind Control" begins with some old school sounding guitar riffs and drums which lead up to some bass guitars and drums and after awhile t he growls and screams make their presence known and after a minute there is a brief use of spoken word parts along with some groove elements and then t he music gets slightly faster for a few seconds.
"Outlaw" begins with some heavy and melodic guitar riffs and drums and then the growls start kicking in along with some screams and then the music goes more into a mid paced direction and there are no guitar solos or leads present on the song.
"Bitch" begins with some guitar riffs and drums along with some bass guitars and then the growls and screams start kicking in and after a couple of minutes the guitar riffing starts adding in some melodic parts.
"Hypocrite Hero" begins with some heavy and old school guitar riffs along with some bass, drums and growls and after a few seconds screams make their presence known in the song along with some melodic guitar riffing and in some parts the music gets slightly faster and towards the end there is a brief use of guitar solos and leads.
'Reactor" begins with some old school metal guitar riffs and drums and then the growls and screams start kicking in and as time goes on by you can hear the bass guitars and the song stays in the mid paced area.
"Memories" begins with some heavy guitar riffs and drums along with some bass guitars and then goes into a more catchy death'n'roll direction along with some screams which also lead up to some growls along with some melodic guitar riffing and towards the end there is a brief use of old school hard rock/metal guitar leads.
"Eye For An Eye" begins with some melodic guitar riffing and drums before getting heavier and adding in some bass guitars, growls and screams and as time goes on by there are some more old school metal elements added to the guitar riffing.
'Illusion" begins with some dark and heavy guitar riffs along with some drums and after a few seconds the growls kicking along with some melodic riffing and high pitched screams and the song utilizes a great amount of groove elements.
'Sick Reality" begins with some distorted guitar sounds and drums before the heavy guitar riffs kick in along with some bass guitars which leads to some death metal growls and high pitched screams along with some melodic riffing and towards the end there is a brief use of guitar solos and leads and the song is very long and epic in length along with a brief use of acoustic guitars towards the end.
Song lyrics cover hateful and everyday themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Vermin are a very great sounding groove orientated death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Misery" "Bitch" "Memories" and "Sick Reality'. RECOMMENDED BUY.
