Cauldron Of Hate Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

-We are a Finnish death metal group. Our homebase is at Espoo, although none of us live there.
We play brutal and technical death metal.

2.So far you have released 2 ep's, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on both of the recordings?

-Very fast, raw, dark, brutal and chaotic.

3.The band has been around since 2008 but waited 5 years to release any music, can you tell us a little bit more about the delay?

-The band was founded in 2008 under the name of Mictian. A former guitarist suggested a name change to Cauldron of Hate in 2011.
The formation changed in 2012 with a new drummer and one new guitarist. We found our sound in 2013 and headed straight to studio.

4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the music?

-We have some bits of finnish folklore "Kalevala" and the basic ingredients of death metal lyrics like slaughtering masses, blasphemy etc.

5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Cauldron of Hate'?

-Although Cannibal Corpse has a song called "A cauldron of hate", our name has nothing to do with it. We just like to concentrate our hate to simple kitchen utensils.

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and also how would you describe your stage performance?

-We had one gig ("Kuritushuone[=Torturechamber]XXIV")in a metal/rock bar in Helsinki called "PRKL". We aso performed with NOXA from indonesia
in a small underground gig ("miniTUSKA"). At the stage our performance is rugged and in your face with a HAMMMER!

7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?

-Of course.

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of death metal?

-We have a steady fanbase in Australia (1 person) and nobody has had the guts to tell us we suck.

9.When can we expect a full length and also where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

-Truthfully speaking in early 2016 or later because we're broke. No money. Nada. We're going to add a little bit of technicalities, a lot of brutality and going deeper into inferno of madness.

10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

-Nile, Krisiun, Death, Slayer, Metallica, Morbid Angel, Behemoth, mostly american death metal anyway. Also classical music and a bit of progressive metal.

11.What are some of your non musical interests?

-Drinking and fucking around.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

-Keep it brutal, support your local metal scene and remember to remember. If you don't, you might forget.
