Apelsinovaya Krevetka a.k.a Citrus Lobster are a band from Russia that plays a mixture of death metal, thrash and hardcore and this is a review of their 2016 album "Inbox" which was released as a joint effort between Irond and Molot.
A very heavy sound starts off the album along with some melodic guitar leads and all of the musical instruments sound very powerful and after awhile aggressive screams are added into the music and there is also a brief use of whistling on one of the tracks and the riffs also bring in a decent amount of melody.
You can hear a lot of hardcore elements in both the vocals and riffs and when the music speeds up thrash influences are added onto the recording along with a great amount of blast beats while also mixing in the heaviness of death metal and the songs also bring in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts and back up gang shouts can also be heard at times and most of the songs stick to a heavy sound while one song does add in Asian style instruments and the last track utilizes acoustic guitars along with saxophones briefly.
Apelsinovaya Krevetka plays a musical style that takes death metal, thrash and hardcore and mixes them together to create their own style of schizo metal, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in Russian and cover anti humanism, violence, psychedelia, mental/social issues and black humour themes.
In my opinion Apelsinovaya Krevetka are a very great sounding mixture of death metal, thrash and hardcore and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band.
